Where is a good place to go on a date in Chicago?

I’m going to Chicago next week and can’t think of anywhere to go. My date and I both live in or near Chicago, so we’ve done all the typical Chicago things. I want to take her someplace that’s not typical. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try Geja’s on Armitage in Lincoln Park – http://www.gejascafe.com/
You’ll spend about $100 total, and you might think you’re going to leave a fondu place hungry, but I’m a Chicago junk food eater, and when I took my wife here we ordered the “aged beef tenderloin & breast of chicken” and I’ve never left a place more stuffed in my life…it comes with all of this stuff for $40 per person (from their site):

“All premier dinners include our famous cheese-fondue appetizer, Geja’s salad, an assortment of fresh vegetables, eight classic dipping sauces, flaming chocolate dessert fondue and Geja’s freshly ground coffee.”

It’s a nice quiet and dark place, and if you order any type of meat, you cook it yourself at the table, so you’re always interacting with the person you’re with.

OR

If you want to spend a little less, you can take her to Feast on Damen in Wicker Park – http://feastrestaurant.com/ – which has slightly more upscale food for a pub, maybe $20 a person and if you’re lucky you can get a seat by the fireplace. Then walk to Hot Chocolate – http://www.hotchocolatechicago.com/ – which is on also on Damen, just south of Armitage.
