College Student dating a High School Student?
I am a 21 year old college student(about to be finished with my degree) and I just started dating a high school senior a few weeks ago. We seem to have a lot in common an are taking things slow and just getting to know and enjoy each other. My question is about his parents he has spoken to them about us dating and his mom said that she basically would just have to get to know me (which is fine) and his dad just didnt say much, should I just respect his parents and just focus on me and his relationship? Can anyone give me any advice on dating someone younger?Any Ideas on dates? We really like each other so any helpful hints or advice would be greatly appreciated! And please dont be judgmental or mean this is a serious question and I would like some postive feedback please! =)
All I can say is that things change a lot between high school and college. You can say he’s mature and that’s fine, but he still hasn’t had the same life experiences as a college student. Plus, you’re graduating college right around the time when he’s graduating high school? It’s going to be difficult to maintain a relationship with him then.
Also, guys typically mature slower than girls. You can try dating him, but I can tell you right now that there’s a huge difference between a 17 or 18-year-old guy and a 21-year-old girl. I tried dating guys a year or two younger than me when I was 21 and it did not work out well. I would say it’s fine as long as you just expect a fling with him. Do not go into it expecting a long-term relationship because you two are at different places.
