Why are Quiverfulls against kissing and dating prior to marriage?
Okay so I’m watching the prequels to a Very Duggar Wedding where the oldest son who’s around 20 gets engaged to a young lady he’s only met once or twice prior to the engagement and they were talking about they prefer to the courting vs. dating and no kissing until the wedding! I understand from a conservative Christian viewpoint why you would wait to have sex but kissing? Why?
Lat… I agree with you. Though I know not everyone has premarital sex for that reason. But most Christians tend to teach their children to wait for the sex but not neccessarily discourage dating or kissing. Plus I’m confused because in the first “Duggar” show he was 16 and the mother was commenting she allowed her kids to date at 16 and he went on a chaperoned date (he was 16 at the time of the taping), this was when she only had 14 kids with one on the way. I figure at this point she’ll have 2 more before her body gives out and maybe set a new world record, lol.
Maybe they are afraid that they kiss they won’t be able to control themselves and will have sex. I think not finding out if you are at least somewhat sexually compatible before marriage is a stupid idea.
