Silver makers mark, P R J, anyone?
Hi, would anyone know silver makers marks. I have a silver ring Birmingham mark. Hard to see date mark, but the makers mark is,
P R J . If anyone has any ideas I would be eternally grateful. The ring
looks deco, but so does so much 1970s stuff. Thanks Rob.
Perhaps try contacting the Birmingham Assay Office – http://www.theassayoffice.co.uk/contact.html. They may try and charge you though.
I did also find these sites which lists marks, but I’m sorry there’s no PJA on either
http://www.silver2treasure.co.uk/silver-makers-marks
http://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Birmingham-P.html Maybe the owners of those sites could help?
Also some libraries hold copies of books on hallmarks in their antiques sections, early 700s.
Good luck and I hope you find the answer.
