failed to appear in court?
ok so as a minor i failed to appear in court. now i cant get my license. the trials where both mistimenors, possesions of drug paraphanalia and one for truency. this was while i was in highschool. so now i am 20 and i called the court about this so that i can get my license, they said all i can do is go up there and set a court date, but just in case, have a letter of stating a legal answer as to why i failed to appear in court. this is what i need to do but i am not sure how to write it. the format. the wording. and i cant find a sample letter to look at so that i have some kind of idea of what i need to do so the letter i presetable by court and the court clerk. any links or advice guys?
btw this is from dallas county texas
im going to the court today to get all this straightened out. so i just need an example not a lesson.ty
Just say….
“I’m an idiot and thought I was above the law.”
How can you just ignore a court order? Don’t you know that they immediately issue a bench warrent for your arrest? That doesn’t mean they are actively out looking for you, but if you just happend to get stopped somewhere…. they will arrest you. What was your reasoning for not showing up? It better be a damn good one.
Your best bet would be to consult with an attorney prior to showing up.
