positive pregnancy test but unsure of ultrasound scan ??????
hello im new to all of this and could do with some advice i had a pos pg test on thurs i went to the drs as my last period was nov 28th so the dr booked me in for a dating scan i went to early pg unit and was told i was about 4 – 5 weeks there was a black blob there but they were unable to confirm if it was a gestational sac??? im confused so they then sent me for blood tests and i gotta go back tomorrow should i be worrying i already have 1 son and whatever will be will be they did say they are not ruleing out an eptopic pg but im in no pain what so evevr??? please help!!!! i just want the truth whether it be bad r good??? thnx
can i say a big thank u for all your responses i had a beta hcg blood tests x2 and my hormones have quadrupled and will be going for a us scan so so far so good will keep u informed xx

They will probably be measuring the amount if hormones in your system to double check all is ok, as at 4-5 weeks is too early to detect a heart beat in baby, its around 6 weeks the heart starts to beat. They will be able to tell by comapring your blood tests to what they should be at 10 weeks pregant and if there is a chance that your dates are worng they will probably repeat the bloods a few days later to get a better idea whats going on.
Dont panic thinking everythings wrong, it is possible that you are 5 weeks pregnant and got dates mixed up, but the only thing you can do is wait and see what they say and do, and dont be afraid to ask what they are doing and why.
