What is the difference of Online Dating and Long Distance Relationship?

I’ve been dating this guy for nearly a month now and like when i tell my friends about him they call me a online dater which i find as insult just because our relationship is by using messenger doesn’t mean it’s i online date. My feelings toward him is definatly more than an online date because i really love him a lot.

What do i do? :( ( pls help me.

You must be quite young. How can you possibly “love” someone that you do not even know? You may feel as though you know him, but online dating OR a long-distance relationship is no comparison to actually being with the guy and getting to know the REAL him.

Why are you insulted when your friends call you an online dater? Isn’t that the way that you communicate with this person? What would you want them to call this relationship? A long-distance relationship is typically one where you actually KNOW the person, you’ve probably dated and spent time with him, but you’re separated by considerable distance so that you have to keep in touch through letters, telephone, e-mail. An internet/online dater is one where you probably don’t physically know the person or spend time with him, and your sole means of meeting him and getting to know him is via the internet, or, as you said, IMing.

What do you mean, “What do I do?” Tell your friends to call it what they want, if it’s a relationship you’d like to develop and cultivate, and keep talking to the guy. If it’s more important HOW they refer to your relationship, then you probably aren’t ready for a relationship of any type. If you’re asking if you should keep talking to the guy, why not? Just don’t fool yourself into believing that it’s “love;” take it for what it’s worth — a friendship, until you possibly get the opportunity to know him in person.
