Who sets up court date for divorce?

I am filling for an uncontested divorce. I wanted to try and settle it without a lawyer.
So I paid to to get divorce forms online. It referred me to file at the Circuit County Clerks Office.
I go there and the clerk said she could stamp my forms and take my money, but if it wasn’t right they wouldn’t be held accountable. That I understand but she said filling for divorce wouldn’t set up the court date either. She also wouldn’t tell me who would set up the court date. Because they can’t give any legal advice. The Nashville, TN Circuit County Clerks Office is worthless. Can anyone help me out here? I just need to know where to start. I need to get this thing done. Hopefully quick and painless. Thanks

If you are lucky enough to find out the attorney for the judge Phone number like l did then you are in business. By law the clerk can not give you any kind of advice or answer any questions you may have about the divorce process, so don’t waste your breath talking to the clerk. I did my divorce all by myself using an online divorce site. I was mainly helped by asking a lot of questions here on yahoo answers, and it was a tremendous help. And I am proud to say that as of Wednesday February 3, 2010 I am a divorced woman. It took me 4 months to get my paper work in order and correct for proceeding with getting a hearing date set for the judge to sign the Judgment and final Decree. So to answer your question, once all your paperwork is filed completely and correctly, then and only then will the judge and his staff set up a date for your divorce case to be heard. Good luck on this, and stay serious about getting this divorce, and it will happen for you, you just have to put in a little work.
