Why do people care about race in love?
Hi, I’m incredibly confused on why people are even concerned about race and love. I’m 15, and I live in Princeton, and my parents have talked to me about it, and I’ve even had countless discussions with Adults of various races.
My parents are from Taiwan, so I’m Asian, but I’m 6′2, have a perfect accent, and am completely immersed within American culture. I know nothing of my other culture. I actually don’t look Asian at all, I have large rounded eyes, I’m a Junior Olympic fencer and I love skateboarding/everything normal kids do and listen to the same Rock and Roll/Alternative. In our community we don’t care about race at all.
I used to date a girl with an IQ of a genius, and she was French Romanian. The same with with an African American girl from New York who moved here. I loved them for their personalities.
After asking adults in Princeton University, people responded that it is simply the matter of prejudice, and it’s rather sad.
Why is race so important in other areas?
I seriously don’t know. I think that when people finally stop pretending that race actually exist that the world will be a much better place. Race is a man made concept.
