English –> Russian phrase translation?

Ideally not a literal word-for-for translation that I could obtain from dictionaries or babelfish. You ought to be proud of being bilingual!

The phrase is:
“I never would have dated you had I known I would lose your friendship, too.”

For context, this is to be addressed an former love who doesn’t talk to me, with the implied subtle hope that it will change that fact. We broke up because we were going to different universities far from each other, and has since eliminated me from her life altogether.

Suggestions? Thanks!

“I never would have dated you had I known I would lose your friendship, too.”

“Я никогда не стал бы с тобой встречаться, если бы знал, что лишусь даже твоей дружбы!”

P.S. If your computer doesn’t read cyrillic fonts, here’s the same in English letters, she’ll understand:

“Ya nikogda ne stal by s toboj vstrechatsja, esli by znal, chto lishus dazhe tvoej druzhby!”

Good luck, mate!:)

P.P.S. Thanks to Heather for her input, but do go with my translation, I’m Russian.
