You’re Never Too Old To Find Your Ideal Partner
I work for a professional introduction and dating agency and as you can imagine we have lots of interesting and funny stories to tell.
This one is one of my favourites as it concerns the very first lady who ever telephoned us when our agency began in 2002..
Mary (not her real name) was 77 and titled – she lived in East Yorkshire. She asked me what were her chances of finding her Ideal man through our agency and I said “Probably Zero”.
I was just being honest. She was a lovely woman but in all the years I have worked for agencies, I knew it would not be easy to find a partner for a lady (a real Lady) of her age living where she did.
She didn’t join that day but a few days later she called and said (in a very posh voice indeed), “well my dear, I am going to join because I have been thinking – if I don’t join you and the right man does, I won’t meet him will I?”
So she joined and I explained to her that she might never meet anyone – we didn’t want to send her someone for the sake of a date and she wouldn’t have wanted that anyway.
Five months later a lovely man of 78 joined us – he was a well-respected Clergyman living just 15 miles from Mary.
As far as I know they are still enjoying a wonderful friendship and maybe more (we didn’t ask!)
It just shows that you should never give up hope.
